Each month we highlight 3 selected events connected to Lisbon’s nightlife, electronic music, alternative culture and dancefloor community, not as a full agenda, but as a personal and curated spotlight for gatherings worth noticing.
Deep in the forests of Góis, beside the River Ceira, Chronosphere is bringing three days of electronic music, art, nature and community to central Portugal.
The lineup moves across house, techno, electro, experimental and contemporary electronic music, with an international and Portuguese selection that includes HAAi, Elkka, OK Williams, Marie Montexier, Shubostar, Megatronic, ISAbella, Adriana Ruas and Yen Sung, alongside Moodymann, DJ Stingray 313, Young Marco, Nicolas Lutz, Bambounou and many more.
But what really caught our attention is the way Chronosphere approaches neurodiversity.
The festival has been designed specifically with neurodivergent people in mind, with accessibility built into the experience from the beginning.
There is a dedicated regulation space, quiet areas, sensory aware planning, reserved space near the stage, Safety Angels trained to provide support, noise reducing headphones and clear, literal signage.
The team has also received neurodiversity training, with input from the Associação Portuguesa Voz do Autista and the Peter Koijen Foundation.
For us, this is particularly interesting because inclusion here goes beyond a statement. It is being translated into the physical environment, communication and way the festival supports its audience.
Add the forest setting, camping beside the river and a programme that moves between different generations and corners of electronic music, and Chronosphere starts to feel like something rather more considered than your average festival weekend.

GROOVY MARKET

Set in the countryside around Ericeira, Groovy Market brings together local makers, food, art, wellness, movement and music in a community focused gathering that feels more like a day out than a conventional market.
The September edition marks the final Groovy Market of the season, with the day beginning with yoga, movement, ceramics, sound healing and other wellness activities, alongside a selection of local artisans and market stalls.
As the afternoon unfolds, the atmosphere shifts towards sunset and the music takes over.
One of the highlights is Magupi, the live project of Portuguese multi instrumentalist and composer Márcio Pinto.
His music brings together balafon, marimba and African percussion with synthesizers and electronic beats, drawing on years of musical exploration and travels through West Africa.
His sound sits somewhere between organic and electronic, traditional and contemporary, making him a natural fit for an event built around connection, movement and discovery.
There is also something particularly appealing about the Groovy Market format. The music is only one part of the experience. You can arrive early, wander through the market, take part in a workshop, slow down with a wellness session, eat, meet people and stay until the afternoon gradually turns into a dancefloor at nightfall.

The Groovy Market runs on good vibes rather than fixed ticket prices.
Until 20:00, the suggested contribution is €10. After 20:00, it becomes €20. But these are suggested donations, so the contribution remains flexible.

Ilektronik Sangeet

On 10 September, Ilektronik Sangeet takes over Lux Frágil for a full Day & Night showcase, bringing together electronic music, live performance, vinyl culture and artists who move comfortably between different musical worlds.
The evening begins at 18:00 on the Terrace, where Tiago Tocha opens the programme with a vinyl set.
Jenny Tall then takes over, drawing from the cinematic sounds of 1970s Italy and the worlds of library music, funk, jazz and film soundtracks.
Downstairs, the Bar floor takes a more live and eclectic turn. Iguana Garcia & Johnny bring an exclusive live act combining sequenced synthesisers, reverbed guitars, tenor and soprano saxophone and a psychedelic Latin edge.
Khalil Suleman, Ilektronik Sangeet resident, follows with his blend of indie dance, house, techno and Balearic sounds, layered with ethnic and percussive influences. Quant closes the showcase.
From vinyl selections to live instrumentation, psychedelic influences and electronic grooves, this is a programme that refuses to sit neatly inside one box.

Vanusa Vaz is a long-time Lisbon nightlife figure, PR, promoter and the Lisbon Party People online community manager.
Her path through nightlife began in iconic spaces such as Alcântara-Mar, Kings and Queens, Garage and Kadoc , venues that marked different generations of Portuguese club culture.
Deeply connected to Lisbon’s dance music and alternative nightlife scene, Vanusa has built a wide network across DJs, promoters, artists, bartenders, performers, venues and party communities.
She has also worked as Backstage Manager at the Dance Temple, the main stage of Boom Festival, bringing her experience from nightlife into large-scale festival production.
Today, Vanusa supports Lisbon Party People as community curator and group manager, selecting relevant events and highlighting local places worth discovering.
