MUSIC - COMMUNITY - DANCEFLOOR - CULTURE

The project was founded by Joana Melo e Castro, Portuguese multidisciplinary artist, Dj and event producer, who created the name, concept and artistic direction of the project.

What began as a playful idea around house party energy, music, costumes, freedom and friendship, together with the early collaboration of Carla Jesus, a skilled event producer., the combination helped bring the first phase of the project to life, Techno music weekly event series at Titanic Sur Mer, from 2021/22 , where Lisbon Party People hosted Thursday night gatherings for seven months.

The name idea came naturally from a simple but familiar expression: of “party people” that extended to the Lisbon scene, thanks to the friends, artists, promoters, bartenders, night workers and regular dancefloor creatures who were always present in the city’s parties, afters and underground gatherings.

Those nights brought together DJs, performers, bubbles, neon details, playful accessories, fire and circus-inspired moments, always with the intention of creating a warmer, lighter and more imaginative dancefloor, somewhere between a club night and a house party.

After the event series, Lisbon Party People had started to expanded into an online community on Facebook, created not only to share its own events, but also to connect people with Lisbon’s wider electronic music scene.

The group quickly grew through word of mouth and becoming an online lively meeting point for locals, international residents, DJs, artists, promoters and music lovers looking for parties, recommendations, afters and cultural connection in the city.

2026 the Lisbon Party People Facebook community brings together over 6,000 people and keeps growing.

The daily life of the online community has also been shaped by Vanusa Vaz, long-time Lisbon nightlife figure, bartender, promoter and community manager, whose deep connection to the city’s dance music culture helped the group expand and become even more broad..

Now, Lisbon Party People continues as a platform for music curation, community culture, selected dj bookings, stories, archive and future gatherings, connecting the memory of the Lisbon’ dancefloor life, Djs and artists, with new creative possibilities.

Has always, we support gender equality and non-discrimination, and we like to promote a healthy dancefloor culture, hidrate, leave no one behind, be kind and party with love!
